Experiences

3 years 6 months (Feb 2019 – Aug 2022) as a helper in Saudi Arabia

Marivic worked in a 2-storey house with 6-bedrooms, 8-toilets, 5-living room and 3-kitchen for a family of 9 with a year-old child. Daily she does general house cleaning chores, assist to prepare and cook for the family, do laundry, ironing and folding, assist to look after the child’s welfare. In all these, she learned to cook basic Arabic dishes and manage the work schedule well, for her future employment, she hopes to learn new culture and to save up.

(Sep 2022 – present) Returns home, take rest and seek new job opportunities.



Cooking

She cooks Filipino dishes, keen to learn to cook Chinese and various other dishes.



Childcare

She is keen to look after children and/or infant. Her ex-abroad experience had taught her to better look after infant wellbeing. She prepare the child’s milk and fed her, wash and clean up after her, wash and sterilize feeding bottles, bathe and change her with fresh clothing and diaper, keep company, soothe the infant to sleep, attend to and assist with her needs.



Pet Care

She is keen to look after pets and a pet lover. She has local dogs, cats and rabbit at home. She grooms the dogs, fed and keep clean the pet animals’ cage.



Hand phone

She will follow the employer’s instruction regarding hand phone usage. However, she will contact her family using her own hand phone after work hour. Any other usage arrangement is between employer and helper; this will be stated in the Job Offer.



Off-day

The helper is entitled to 1 compulsory off-day per month and the other working off-days shall be compensated accordingly.



2 years contract

She is aware that she will enter a 2-year contract.



Recommendation

In summary, Marivic is mature and ready to take on new challenge. Being a first timer in Singapore, it may not be easy for her to understand employer’s needs, however, we believe with enough time, proper guidance and training, she will be a good help in your family.
