Experiences

2 years 2 months (Jan 2017 – Mar 2019) as a helper in Abu Dhabi

Anthonieta worked in a 3-storey house with 4-bedrooms, 5-toilets, 2-kitchen and a living room for a family of 5 with a 1-, 2- and 4-year-old. Daily she does general house cleaning chores, do laundry, ironing and folding, looks after children welfare.

(Apr 2019 – Oct 2019) Returned home, took rest and applied to work in Kuwait.  

3 years (Nov 2019 – Nov 2022) as a helper in Kuwait

Anthonieta worked in a 4-bedroom apartment with 3-toilets, a living room, kitchen, a playroom and a guest room for a Syrian-Kuwaiti family of 5. Daily she does general house cleaning chores, assist employer to prepare and cook for the family, do laundry, ironing and folding. In all these, she learned to adjust to their culture, for her future employment, she hopes to learn new culture.

(Dec 2022 – present) Returns home, managed their family piggery business and seek new job opportunities.



Cooking

She cooks Filipino dishes, keen to learn to cook Chinese and various other dishes. In Kuwait, she learned to prepare and cook basic Arabic dishes, such as biryani, laham with potatoes, kabsa etc.



Childcare

She is keen to look after children and/or infant. Her ex-abroad experience had taught her to better look after children welfare. She would prepare their milk and meals, wash and clean up after them, wash and sterilize feeding bottles, dress, get them ready and send them to school. In Kuwait, she assist the nanny to look after the employer’s grandchildren during their daily visit, prepare their milk and meals, wash and sterilize feeding bottles, watch over their safety, attend to and assist with their needs.



Elderly Care

She is keen to look after the elderly. In her OJT training as caregiver in Home for the Aged for two months, she looked after two mid-60 mild stroke female patients. She would prepare their meals and fed them, administer their medication, watch over their safety, bathe and change them with fresh clothing and diaper, assist in their movement on walking stick, accompany them outdoor for sunshine and relaxation.



Hand phone

She will follow the employer’s instruction regarding hand phone usage. However, she will contact her family using her own hand phone after work hour. Any other usage arrangement is between employer and helper; this will be stated in the Job Offer.



Off-day

The helper is entitled to 1 compulsory off-day per month and the other working off-days shall be compensated accordingly.



2 years contract

She is aware that she will enter a 2-year contract.



Recommendation

In summary, Anthonieta is mature and ready to take on new challenge. Being a first timer in Singapore, it may not be easy for her to understand employer’s needs, however, we believe with enough time, proper guidance and training, she will be a good help in your family.
