5 years (2010 – 2015) as a helper in Bulacan, Philippines

Maricel worked in a 3-storey house with 4-bedrooms, 3-toilets, 2-living room and a kitchen for a family of 4 with a 3-year-old. Daily she does general house cleaning chores, prepare and cook for the family, do laundry, ironing and folding, wash and clean the family car, looks after the child welfare. In all these, she learned to manage her work schedule well and be a patient helper, for her future employment, she hopes to learn new culture and save up.

(2015 – 2016) Stays home, take rest and seek new job opportunities.

(Feb 2016 – Dec 2016) Works as factory worker in Bulacan, Philippines.

(Jan 2017 – present) Stays home, continues with her study and seek new job opportunities.



Cooking

She cooks Filipino dishes, keen to learn to cook Chinese and various other dishes.



Childcare

She is keen to look after children and/or infant. Her local experience had taught her to better look after the child wellbeing. She would wash and clean up after her, prepare milk and meals, bathe and change her with fresh clothing and diaper, watch over her play and safety, soothe her to sleep, dress and send her to-and-fro from school, accompany her outdoor for school and church events, attend to and assist with her daily needs.  



Elderly Care

She is keen to look after the elderly and she looked after her 71-year-old love partner with renal problem for two months before he passed on. She would prepare his meals and fed him, assist to change him with fresh clothing, administer his medication, accompany him for medical check-up and outdoor relaxation, attend to and assist with his needs.



Pet Care

She is keen to look after pets. In her local experience, she groom Pomeranian, Doberman, French bulldog and Shih Tzu, fed them and keep clean the pet dogs’ areas.



Hand phone

She will follow the employer’s instruction regarding hand phone usage. However, she will contact her family using her own hand phone after work hour. Any other usage arrangement is between employer and helper; this will be stated in the Job Offer.



Off-day

The helper is entitled to 1 compulsory off-day per month and the other working off-days shall be compensated accordingly.



2 years contract

She is aware that she will enter a 2-year contract.



Recommendation

In summary, Maricel is mature and ready to take on new challenge. Being a first timer in Singapore, it may not be easy for her to understand employer’s needs, however, we believe with enough time, proper guidance and training, she will be a good help in your family.
