Jodelyn worked in a 3-bedroom flat with 2-toilet, a living room and kitchen for a family of 5, together with a co-helper. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, do marketing, prepare and cook for the family, do laundry, ironing and folding.

7 months (Jun 2017 – Jan 2018) as a caregiver cum helper in the Philippines

Jodelyn worked in a 2-bedroom flat with a toilet, living room and kitchen for a family of 2 with a 49-year-old bedridden female, a cancer patient, and she looked after her wellbeing, together with a co-helper. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, do marketing, prepare and cook the family meals, do laundry, ironing and folding. She did not work long due to family emergency. In all these, she managed the work well and in patient care. For her future employment, she hopes to learn and adapt to new cultures and experience.

Cooking

She cooks Filipino dishes, such as adobo, sinigang, menudo at spaghetti etc., keen to learn to cook Chinese and various other dishes.



Childcare

She is keen to look after children and/or infant. Back home, she assists in looking after her siblings, prepares their milk, bathe and change them with fresh clothing and diapers, wash and clean their feeding bottles, watch over their playing and safety, sing lullaby and soothe them to sleep, attend to and assist in their daily needs.



Elderly/ Patient Care

She is keen to look after the elderly and patient. In her caregiving experience, she prepared the patient’s meals, bathe and change her with fresh clothing, administered her vitamins and medication, massaged her, accompanied her for medical check-up, check her vital signs and blood pressure level, attended to and assisted in her daily needs.



Pet Care

She is keen to look after pets. In her local experience, she grooms an Aspin, fed the dog and keep clean the pet areas.



Hand phone

She will follow the employer’s instruction regarding hand phone usage. However, she will contact her family using her own hand phone after work hour. Any other usage arrangement is between employer and helper; this will be stated in the Job Offer.



Off-day

The helper is entitled to 1 compulsory off-day per month and the other working off-days shall be compensated accordingly.



2 years contract

She is aware of the 2-year contract.



Recommendation

In summary, Jodelyn is mature and ready to take on new challenge. Being a first timer in Singapore, it may not be easy for her to understand employer’s needs, however, we believe with enough time, proper guidance and training, she will be a good help in your family.
