1 year 6 months (Feb 2019 – Aug 2020) as helper in Antipolo City, Philippines

Jessica worked in a 2-storey house with 3-bedrooms, a toilet, dining room and kitchen for a family of 5 with a 5-month-old, a 6- and 9-year-old, and she looked after their welfare. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, do marketing, prepare and cook for the family, do laundry, ironing and folding. She didn't continue working due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In all these, she managed the work well. For her future employment, she hopes to learn and adapt to new culture and experiences.

Stays home, looks after her child’s wellbeing and seek new job opportunities.



Cooking

She cooks Filipino dishes, such as adobo, sinigang, kare-kare etc., keen to learn to cook Chinese and various other dishes.



Childcare

She is keen to look after children and/or infant and she looked after her own since birth. In her previous experience, she prepared the infant’s milk, fed her and meals for the older one, washed and sterilized feeding bottles, bathed the infant and changed her with fresh clothing and diapers, soothed her to sleep, dressed older one and sent them to-and-fro from school, assisted and supervised with their schoolwork, accompanied them for outdoor activities and during night hours, attended to and assisted with their needs.



Elderly Care

She is keen to look after the elderly.



Hand phone

She will follow the employer’s instruction regarding hand phone usage. However, she will contact her family using her own hand phone after work hour. Any other usage arrangement is between employer and helper; this will be stated in the Job Offer.



Off-day

The helper is entitled to 1 compulsory off-day per month and the other working off-days shall be compensated accordingly.



2 years contract

She is aware of the 2-year contract.



Recommendation

In summary, Jessica is mature and ready to take on new challenge. Being a first timer in Singapore, it may not be easy for her to understand employer’s needs, however, we believe with enough time, proper guidance and training, she will be a good help in your family.
