Marites 34 married with a 4-, 13-, 14- and 15-year-old, and the 9th child in the family of 16 siblings. She wants to work in Singapore to support and save up for her family and children education, she is from Iloilo, Philippines.

Experiences

4 years (2005 – 2009) as a helper in the Philippines

Marites worked in a flat with 3-bedrooms, 2-toilets, a living room and kitchen for a Chinese family of 3 with a 10-year-old, and she looked after his welfare. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, prepare and cook for the family, do laundry and folding. In all these, she managed the work well. For her future work, she hopes to widen her experience to be a better helper.

(2010 – present)

Stays home, looks after her children welfare, and seek new job opportunities.



Cooking

She cooks Filipino dishes, keen to learn to cook Chinese and various other dishes.



Childcare

She is keen to look after children and/or infant and looks after her own since birth. In her previous experience, she prepared his meals and meals, bathed, dressed and sent him to-and-fro from school, accompanied him outdoor for play activities, attended to and assisted in his needs.



Elderly Care

She is keen to look after the elderly and provided short term caregiving to an 80-year-old bedridden female, her neighbour, a mild stroke patient.



Hand phone

She will follow the employer’s instruction regarding hand phone usage. However, she will contact her family using her own hand phone after work hour. Any other usage arrangement is between employer and helper; this will be stated in the Job Offer.



Off-day

The helper is entitled to 1 compulsory off-day per month and the other working off-days shall be compensated accordingly.



2 years contract

She is aware of the 2-year contract.



Recommendation

In summary, Marites is mature and ready to take on new challenge. Being a first timer in Singapore, it may not be easy for her to understand employer’s needs, however, we believe with enough time, proper guidance and training, she will be a good help in your family.
