Karen worked in a flat with 4-bedrooms, 3-toilets, 2-living rooms and a kitchen for a family of 4 with a 1- and 8-year-old, and she looked after their welfare, together with a working student and male co-helpers. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, marketing, prepare and cook for the family, laundry, ironing and folding. She didn’t work long, as she needed to continue her studies. In all these, she managed the work well. For her future employment, she hopes to learn and adapt to new culture and experiences.

Stays home, work as Waitress, Section head and Sales Representative in a restaurants, mall and motorcycle shop respectively and seek new work opportunities.



Cooking

She cooks Filipino dishes, such as adobo etc., keen to learn to cook Chinese and various other dishes.



Childcare

She is keen to look after children and/infants and looks after her own since birth. In her previous experience, she prepared the infant's milk, meals and fed, washed and sterilized feeding bottles, bathed and changed them with fresh clothing and diapers, watched over their playing and safety, maintained cleanliness and hygiene, administered their vitamins, soothed them to sleep, assisted and supervised with their schoolwork, attended to and assisted in their needs.



Pet Care

She is keen to look after pets and back home, she grooms and feed two Aspin, keep clean the pet areas.



Hand phone

She will follow the employer’s instruction regarding hand phone usage. However, she will contact her family using her own hand phone after work hour. Any other usage arrangement is between employer and helper; this will be stated in the Job Offer.



Off-day

The helper is entitled to 1 compulsory off-day per month and the other working off-days shall be compensated accordingly.



2 years contract

She is aware of the 2-year contract.



Recommendation

In summary, Karen is mature and ready to take on new challenge. Being a first timer in Singapore, it may not be easy for her to understand employer’s needs, however, we believe with enough time, proper guidance and training, she will be a good help in your family.
