Catherine 38 married with a 10-, 12-, 15- and 18-year-old, and the 4th child in the family of 7 siblings. She wants to work in Singapore to support and save up for her family and children education, she is from Bohol, Philippines.

Experiences

3 years (Jan 2019 – Jan 2022) as stay-out caregiver in the Philippines

Catherine worked in a flat with 3-bedrooms, 2-toilets, a living room and kitchen for a family of 5 with an 80-year-old female, and she looked after her wellbeing. Daily, she cleans and tidy the house, prepare and cook for the family, does the elderly’s laundry and folding. In all these, she managed the work well. For her future employment, she hopes to learn and adapt to new culture and experiences.

Stays home, looks after her family welfare and currently, works as Sales Lady in a mall in the Philippines.



Cooking

She cooks Filipino dishes, such as adobo, sinigang, pansit, tinola, beef and pork nilaga etc., keen to learn to cook Chinese and various other dishes.



Childcare

She is keen to look after children and/ or infants and looks after her own since birth. She prepared their milk and meals, washed and sterilized feeding bottles, bathed and changed them with fresh clothing and diapers, sings lullabies and soothed them to sleep, dressed and sent them to-and-fro from school, attended to and assisted in their needs.



Elderly Care

She is keen to look after the elderly. In her caregiving experience, she prepared her meals, bathed and dressed her with fresh clothing, checked her vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse and heart rate, watched over her safety, provided companionship, attended to and assisted in her needs.



Pet Care

She is keen to look after pets and back home, she grooms, feed and walk an American Bully and Pug, keep clean the pet areas.



Hand phone

She will follow the employer’s instruction regarding hand phone usage. However, she will contact her family using her own hand phone after work hour. Any other usage arrangement is between employer and helper; this will be stated in the Job Offer.



Off-day

The helper is entitled to 1 compulsory off-day per month and the other working off-days shall be compensated accordingly.



2 years contract

She is aware of the 2-year contract.



Recommendation

In summary, Catherine is mature and ready to take on new challenge. Being a first timer in Singapore, it may not be easy for her to understand employer’s needs, however, we believe with enough time, proper guidance and training, she will be a good help in your family.
