Experiences

4 years 4 months (Jan 2016 – May 2020) as a helper in the Philippines

Rose worked in a flat with 2-bedrooms, a toilet, living room and kitchen for a family of 5 with a 3-month-old, and she looked after her welfare, together with a part-time helper. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, marketing, prepare and cook breakfast and dinner, does baby’s laundry, ironing and folding.

Stayed home and seek new job opportunities.

1 year 11 months (Jun 2020 – May 2022) as a helper in the Philippines

Rose worked in a flat with 3-bedrooms, 2-toilets, a living room and kitchen for a family of 6 with a 75- and 82-year-old females, a stroke and paralyzed patients, and she looked after their welfare. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, marketing, prepare and cook for the family, laundry, ironing and folding. In all these, she managed the work well. For her future employment, she hopes to learn and adapt to new culture and experiences.  

(Jun 2022 – present)

Stays home, spend time with her family and currently, works as a Barista at 48 Coffee. Co / Yu Chin Dragon Pearl Milk Tea in Antique, Philippines.


Cooking                   

She cooks Filipino dishes, such as adobo, tinola, sinigang, menudo, afritada and dinuguan, keen to learn to cook Chinese and various other dishes.



Childcare

She is keen to look after children / infants. In her previous experience, she prepared infant’s milk and fed her, washed and sterilized feeding bottles, bathed and changed her with fresh clothing and diapers, kept company and played with her, sang lullabies and soothed her to sleep, accompanied her for sunshine and during night hours, attended to and assisted in her needs.



Elderly Care

She is keen to look after the elderly. In her previous experience, she prepared their meals and fed them, bathed and dressed them with fresh clothing and diapers, administered their medications, accompanied them for outdoor relaxation, transferred from bed to wheelchair and vice versa, attended to and assisted in their needs.



Pet Care

She is keen to look after pets and back home, she grooms and feed two Aspin and three cats, keep clean the pet areas.



Hand phone

She will follow the employer’s instruction regarding hand phone usage. However, she will contact her family using her own hand phone after work hour. Any other usage arrangement is between employer and helper; this will be stated in the Job Offer.



Off-day

The helper is entitled to 1 compulsory off-day per month and the other working off-days shall be compensated accordingly.



2 years contract

She is aware of the 2-year contract.



Recommendation

In summary, Rose is mature and ready to take on new challenge. Being a first timer in Singapore, it may not be easy for her to understand employer’s needs, however, we believe with enough time, proper guidance and training, she will be a good help in your family.
