Grace worked in a 2-bedroom condo with 2-toilets, a living room and kitchen for a Filipino-Japanese couple. Daily she does general house cleaning chores, do marketing, prepare and cook their meals, do laundry, ironing and folding.

(Jan 2006 – May 2013) Returned home, manage their small family sari-sari store business.

3 months (Jun 2013 – Sep 2013) as a helper in Japan (relatives)

Grace returned to work for her relatives with do the same job scope but with an infant added.

(Oct 2013 – Feb 2018) Returned home, manage their small family sari-sari store business.

3 months (Mar 2018 – Jun 2018) as a helper in Japan (relatives)

Grace returned to work for her relatives with the same job scope.

(Jul 2018 – Oct 2020) Returned home, looks after her family wellbeing and seek new work opportunities.  

1 year 9 months (Nov 2020 – Aug 2022) as a helper in the Philippines

Grace worked in a 2-bedroom apartment with 2-toilets, a living room and kitchen for an elderly couple. Daily she does general house cleaning chores, do marketing, prepare and cook for them, do laundry, ironing and folding. In all these, she learned to manage her work schedule well, for her future employment, she hopes to learn new culture and save up.

(Sep 2022 – present) Stays home, take rest and seek new job opportunities.



Cooking

She cooks Filipino dishes, keen to learn to cook Chinese and various other dishes.



Childcare

She is keen to look after children and/or infant. Her ex-abroad experience had taught her to better look after infant welfare. She would wash and clean up after him, prepare his milk and fed him, wash and sterilize feeding bottles, bathe and change him with fresh clothing and diaper, watch over his safety, keep company and play with him, soothe him to sleep.



Elderly Care

She is keen to look after the elderly. Back home, she looked after her 65- and 74-year-old parents for about 3- and 6- years, respectively before they passed on. She would prepare their meals and fed them, bathe and change them with fresh clothing and diaper, transfer them from bed to wheelchair and vice versa, change regularly their bed position, administer their medication, accompany them outdoor for sunshine and relaxation, attend to and assist with their daily needs.



Pet Care

She is keen to look after pets and she has four local dogs and cats. She would groom the dogs, fed and keep clean the pet areas.



Hand phone

She will follow the employer’s instruction regarding hand phone usage. However, she will contact her family using her own hand phone after work hour. Any other usage arrangement is between employer and helper; this will be stated in the Job Offer.



Off-day

The helper is entitled to 1 compulsory off-day per month and the other working off-days shall be compensated accordingly.



2 years contract

She is aware that she will enter a 2-year contract.



Recommendation

In summary, Grace is mature and ready to take on new challenge. Being a first timer in Singapore, it may not be easy for her to understand employer’s needs, however, we believe with enough time, proper guidance and training, she will be a good help in your family.
