Experiences

6 years 10 months (Mar 2016 – Jan 2023) as a helper in Hong Kong (no passport entry stamps)

Cristine worked in a condo with 3-bedrooms, a toilet, living room and kitchen for a Chinese family of 3 with an infant, and she looked after her wellbeing. Daily, she cleans and tidy the house, marketing, prepare and cook simple meals, wash and clean up the kitchen and utensils after use, laundry, ironing and folding, wash and clean the family car. During this period, she took home leave twice, from Dec 2016 to Jan 2017 and Dec 2017 to Jan 2018. In all of these experiences, she learned to adjust to employer’s culture and save up. For her future employment, she hopes to learn to cook Chinese dishes, adapt to Singaporean culture, and new environment.

Returns home, looks after her children welfare, managing her small sari-sari store, and seek new job opportunities.



Cooking

She cooks Filipino dishes, keen to learn to cook Chinese and various other dishes. In Hong Kong, she prepared and cooked basic Chinese dishes, such as steam fish, fried dishes etc.



Childcare

She is keen to look after children and/or infant and she looks after her own since birth. In Hong Kong, she prepared her milk and fed her, meals when she got older, washed and sterilized feeding bottles, bathed and changed her with fresh clothing and diapers, cradled her to sleep, maintained cleanliness and hygiene, when she was older, she sent her to-and-fro from school, accompanied her for outdoor activities and during night hours, tutored and supervised her schoolwork, attended to and assisted in her needs.



Hand phone

She will follow the employer’s instruction regarding hand phone usage. However, she will contact her family using her own hand phone after work hour. Any other usage arrangement is between employer and helper; this will be stated in the Job Offer.



Off-day

The helper is entitled to 1 compulsory off-day per month and the other working off-days shall be compensated accordingly.



2 years contract

She is aware of the 2-year contract.



Recommendation

In summary, Cristine is mature and ready to take on new challenge. Being a first timer in Singapore, it may not be easy for her to understand employer’s needs, however, we believe with enough time, proper guidance and training, she will be a good help in your family.
