Airene 26 separated with a 5-year-old, the 2nd child in the family of 4 siblings. She wants to work in Singapore to support and save up for her son, siblings and their future, she is from Palawan, Philippines.

Experiences

3 months (Nov 2016 – Feb 2017) as helper in the Philippines

Airene looked after the welfare of a 63-year-old female with heart enlargement and renal failure, and she looked after her welfare. She didn’t work long, as the elderly passed on.

(Mar 2017 – Nov 2019)

Stayed home, looked after her child welfare, and seek new work opportunities.

1 year 6 months (Dec 2019 – Jun 2021) as helper for her relatives in the Philippines

Airene worked in a 2-storey house with 2-bedrooms, a toilet, living room and kitchen for a family of 3 with a 2-year-old, and she looked after her welfare. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, marketing, prepare and cook for the family, laundry, ironing and folding. She didn’t continue working, as she returned to the province. In all these, she managed the work well. For her future employment, she hopes to learn and adapt to new culture and experiences.

(Jul 2021 – present)

Stays home, worked as a service crew in a snack hauz for 6 months, and seek new job opportunities.



Cooking                   

She cooks Filipino dishes, such as adobo, tinola, chop suey, sweet and sour chicken and fish etc., keen to learn to cook Chinese and various other dishes.  



Childcare

She is keen to look after children and/or infant and looked after her own since birth. In her previous experience, she prepares her milk, meals and fed her, washed and sterilized feeding bottles, bathed and changed her with fresh clothing and diapers, maintained cleanliness and hygiene, attended to and assisted in her needs.



Elderly Care

She is keen to look after mobile elderly. In her previous experience, she prepared and cooked her meals, dressed her with fresh clothing and diapers, maintained cleanliness and hygiene, administered her medications, attended to and assisted in her needs.



Pet Care

She is keen to look after pets. In her previous experience, she fed two Aspin, and kept clean the pet areas.



Hand phone

She will follow the employer’s instruction regarding hand phone usage. However, she will contact her family using her own hand phone after work hour. Any other usage arrangement is between employer and helper; this will be stated in the Job Offer.



Off-day

The helper is entitled to 1 compulsory off-day per month and the other working off-days shall be compensated accordingly.



2 years contract

She is aware of the 2-year contract.



Recommendation

In summary, Airene is mature and ready to take on new challenge. Being a first timer in Singapore, it may not be easy for her to understand employer’s needs, however, we believe with enough time, proper guidance and training, she will be a good help in your family.
