7 years (Sep 2003 – Sep 2010) as a helper in Kuwait

Marissa worked in a 3-storey house with 5-bedrooms, 3-toilets, 2-living rooms and a kitchen for a Kuwaiti family of 7 with an infant, and she looked after his welfare, together with 2 Filipina co-helpers and a driver. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, prepare and cook for the family, laundry, ironing and folding.

(Oct 2010 – Sep 2012)

Returned home, took rest, and applied to work in UAE.

1 year (Oct 2012 – Oct 2013) as a helper in Abu Dhabi

Marissa worked in a condo with 2-bedrooms, 2-toilets, a living room and kitchen for an American family of 4 with a 2- and 5-year-old, and she looked after their welfare. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, prepare and cook for the family, laundry, ironing and folding. She didn’t complete the contract, as the employer returned to the America.

(Oct 2013 – Nov 2013)

Returned home, and applied to work in Hong Kong.

2 years (Nov 2013 – Nov 2015) as a helper in Hong Kong

Marissa worked in an apartment with 3-bedrooms, a toilet, living room and kitchen for a Chinese family of 4 with a 10- and 13-year-old, and she looked after their welfare. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, marketing, prepare and cook for the family, laundry, ironing and folding.  

1 year 2 months (Nov 2015 – Jan 2017) as a helper in Hong Kong

Marissa worked in an apartment with 2-bedrooms, a toilet, living room and kitchen for an American couple. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, marketing, prepare and cook for the couple, laundry, ironing and folding. She didn’t complete the contract, as the employer returned to the America. In all these, she managed the work well. For her future employment, she hopes to widen her experience to be a better helper.

(Feb 2017 – present)

Returns home, looks after her family welfare and seek new job opportunities.



Cooking                

She cooks Filipino dishes, keen to learn to cook Chinese and various other dishes. In her previous experience, she prepared and cooked basic Arabic dishes, such as machboos, biryani rice, chapati etc.



Childcare

She is keen to look after children and/or infant. In her previous experiences, she prepared their milk, meals and fed them, bathed and changed them with fresh clothing and diapers, accompanied them for outdoor activities, sent them to-and-fro from school, attended to and assisted in their needs.



Elderly Care

She is keen to look after the elderly.



Pet Care

She is keen to look after pets.



Hand phone

She will follow the employer’s instruction regarding hand phone usage. However, she will contact her family using her own hand phone after work hour. Any other usage arrangement is between employer and helper; this will be stated in the Job Offer.



Off-day

The helper is entitled to 1 compulsory off-day per month and the other working off-days shall be compensated accordingly.



2 years contract

She is aware of the 2-year contract.



Recommendation

In summary, Marissa is mature and ready to take on new challenge. Being a first timer in Singapore, it may not be easy for her to understand employer’s needs, however, we believe with enough time, proper guidance and training, she will be a good help in your family.
