1 year 9 months (Apr 2017 – Jan 2019) as a helper in Kuwait

Theresa worked in a 3-storey house with 7-toilets, 5-bedrooms, 5-living rooms and a kitchen for a Kuwaiti family of 7 with a 7-, 12-, 14-, 16- and 18-year-old, and she looked after their welfare. Daily, she cleans and tidy the house, assist madam to prepare and cook the family meals, wash and clean up the kitchen and utensils after use, do laundry, ironing and folding. She didn't complete the contract due to a misunderstanding with employer's eldest daughter. In all these, she managed the work well and a patient helper. For her future employment, she hopes to learn and adapt to new culture and save up.

Returns home, looks after her family welfare and seek new job opportunities.



Cooking

She cooks Filipino dishes, such as adobo, pinakbet, chop suey etc., keen to learn to cook Chinese and various other dishes.



Childcare

She is keen to look after children and/or infant and she looked after her own since birth. In Kuwait, she prepared their meals, supervised and tutored their schoolwork, accompanied them for outdoor play activities and medical check-ups, attended to and assisted in their daily needs.



Elderly Care

She is keen to look after the elderly and she looks after her 69-year-old mother, a stroke patient with hypertension. She prepares her meals, fed and administers her medications, bathes and changes her with fresh clothing and diapers, monitor and check her blood pressure level, attends to and assists in her daily needs.



Pet Care

She is keen to look after pets.



Hand phone

She will follow the employer’s instruction regarding hand phone usage. However, she will contact her family using her own hand phone after work hour. Any other usage arrangement is between employer and helper; this will be stated in the Job Offer.



Off-day

The helper is entitled to 1 compulsory off-day per month and the other working off-days shall be compensated accordingly.



2 years contract

She is aware of the 2-year contract.



Recommendation

In summary, Theresa is mature and ready to take on new challenge. Being a first timer in Singapore, it may not be easy for her to understand employer’s needs, however, we believe with enough time, proper guidance and training, she will be a good help in your family.
