Jane 44 single with 5-siblings and the 2nd child in the family (the 3rd sibling demised due to motor accident). She wants to work in Singapore to support her family, and she is from Surigao Del Norte, Philippines.

Experiences

4 years (2007 – 2011) as helper in Hong Kong (no passport stamps)

Jane worked in a flat with 2-bedrooms, 2-toilets, a living room, helper’s room and kitchen for a Chinese family of 4 with an 8- and 9-year-old, and she looked after their welfare. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, do marketing, prepare and cook for the family, do laundry, ironing and folding, wash and clean the family car.

(2011 – 2012)

Returned home, spent time with her family and applied to work in Hong Kong.  

10 years (2012 – 2022) as helper in Hong Kong (no passport stamps)

Jane worked in a 2-storey house with 5-toilets, 4-bedrooms, a living room, helper’s room, roof top, jacuzzi and kitchen for a Chinese family of 5 with a 7-, 9- and 12-year-old, and she looked after their welfare, together with a co-helper and a driver. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, do marketing, prepare and cook for the family, do laundry, ironing and folding, wash and clean the family car.

(2022 – 2023)

Returned home, took rest and applied to work in Hong Kong.  

9 months (Jan 2023 – Oct 2023) as helper in Hong Kong

Jane worked in a flat with 3-bedrooms, 3-toilets, a living room, helper’s room and kitchen for a Chinese family of 4 with a 1- and 3-year-old, and she looked after their welfare, together with a co-helper and a driver. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, do marketing, prepare and cook for the family, do laundry, ironing and folding. In all these, she managed the work well. For her future employment, she hopes to widen her experience to be a better helper.

(Nov 2023 – present)

Returns home, take rest and seek new job opportunities.



Cooking

She cooks Filipino dishes, keen to learn to cook Chinese and various other dishes. In Hong Kong, she prepared and cooked basic Chinese dishes, such as steam chicken with black focus, steam fish, broccoli with prawn etc.



Childcare

She is keen to look after children and/or infant. In her previous experience, she prepared their milk and meals, washed and sterilized feeding bottles, bathed and changed them with fresh clothing and diapers, watched over their playing and safety, maintained cleanliness and hygiene, dressed and sent them to-and-fro from school, attended to and assisted with their needs.



Elderly Care

She is keen to look after mobile elderly.



Hand phone

She will follow the employer’s instruction regarding hand phone usage. However, she will contact her family using her own hand phone after work hour. Any other usage arrangement is between employer and helper; this will be stated in the Job Offer.



Off-day

The helper is entitled to 1 compulsory off-day per month and the other working off-days shall be compensated accordingly.



2 years contract

She is aware of the 2-year contract.



Recommendation

In summary, Jane is mature and ready to take on new challenge. Being a first timer in Singapore, it may not be easy for her to understand employer’s needs, however, we believe with enough time, proper guidance and training, she will be a good help in your family.
