Gilda 38 married with a 5-, 9-, 10-, 14- and 21-year-old, and the 2nd child in the family of 10 siblings. She wants to work in Singapore to support and save up for her family and children education, she is from Ifugao, Philippines.

Experiences

1 year 7 months (Aug 2018 – Mar 2020) as helper in Zambales, Philippines

Gilda worked in a 2-storey house with 3-bedrooms, 2-kitchens, 2-toilets, a living room and helper’s room for a family of 8 with a 7- and 10-year-old, and she looked after their welfare, together with 8 co-helpers. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, assist employer in marketing, prepare and cook for the family, laundry, ironing and folding. She didn't continue working due to COVID-19 outbreak and had to return home.

Stayed home, looked after her family welfare and seek new work opportunities.

3 months (Nov 2023 – Feb 2024) as crew/ helper in Ifugao, Philippines

Gilda worked in a bakery, cleaned and tidied the work areas, washed and cleaned the kitchen, utensils and equipment. In all these, she managed the work well. For her future employment, she hopes to widen her experience to be a better helper.

(Mar 2024 – present)

Stays home, take rest and seek new job opportunities.



Cooking

She cooks Filipino dishes, such as adobo, etc., keen to learn to cook Chinese and various other dishes.



Childcare

She is keen to look after children and/infants and looks after her own since birth. In her previous experience, she prepared their milk and meals, bathed, dressed and get them ready, sent them to-and-fro from school, tutored and supervised their schoolwork, attended to and assisted in their needs.



Elderly Care

She is keen to look after the elderly.



Pet Care

She is keen to look after pets and back home, she grooms and feed an Aspin and cat, keep clean the pet areas.



Hand phone

She will follow the employer’s instruction regarding hand phone usage. However, she will contact her family using her own hand phone after work hour. Any other usage arrangement is between employer and helper; this will be stated in the Job Offer.



Off-day

The helper is entitled to 1 compulsory off-day per month and the other working off-days shall be compensated accordingly.



2 years contract

She is aware of the 2-year contract.



Recommendation

In summary, Gilda is mature and ready to take on new challenge. Being a first timer in Singapore, it may not be easy for her to understand employer’s needs, however, we believe with enough time, proper guidance and training, she will be a good help in your family.
