Marites 41 separated with a 5-, 13-, 16-, 19- and 24-year-old, and the 2nd child in the family of 4 siblings. She wants to work in Singapore to support and save up for her family, and she is from Negros Occidental, Philippines.

Experiences

10 months (Jul 2014 – May 2015) as nanny cum helper in Malaysia

Marites worked in a 2-storey house with 4-bedrooms, 3-toilets, a living room and kitchen for a Chinese family of 4 with a 4-month-old, and she looked after his welfare. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, marketing, prepare and cook for the child, laundry, ironing and folding, wash and clean the family car. She didn’t complete the contract due to muscular spasm due to fatigue.

(Jun 2015 – Nov 2021)

Returned home, looked after her children welfare and applied to work in Saudi Arabia.

1 year 11 months (Dec 2021 – Nov 2023) as helper in Saudi Arabia

She worked in a 3-storey house with 12-bedrooms, 10-toilets, a living room and kitchen for a family of 8 with a 9- and 13-year-old, and she looked after their welfare. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, marketing, assist to prepare and cook for the family, wash and clean up the kitchen and utensils after use, laundry, ironing and folding. In all these, she managed the work well. For her future employment, she hopes to widen her experience to be a better helper.

(Dec 2023 – present)

Returns home, works as part-time cum on-call laundrywoman, store attendant and sugar cane farmer, and seek new job opportunities.



Cooking

She cooks Filipino dishes, such as adobo, sinigang, paksiw, pancit, chopsuey, pinakbet, caldereta etc. keen to learn to cook Chinese and various other dishes.



Childcare

She is keen to look after children / infants and looks after her own since birth. In her previous experience, she prepared the infant's milk, meals for the older one and fed the infant, washed and sterilized feeding bottles, bathed and changed them with fresh clothing and diapers, maintained cleanliness and hygiene, watched over their playing and safety, soothed the infant to sleep, dressed the older one and get them ready for school, attended to and assisted in their needs.



Elderly Care

She is keen to look after the mobile elderly. In Saudi, she looked after the employer's mother, a mid-80s patient with arthritis and rheumatism, during their visits, prepared her meals, assisted in her movement, provided massages, attended to and assisted in her needs.



Pet Care

She is keen to look after pets. In Malaysia, she groomed and fed two small dogs, kept clean the pet areas.



Hand phone

She will follow the employer’s instruction regarding hand phone usage. However, she will contact her family using her own hand phone after work hour. Any other usage arrangement is between employer and helper; this will be stated in the Job Offer.



Off-day

The helper is entitled to 1 compulsory off-day per month and the other working off-days shall be compensated accordingly.



2 years contract

She is aware of the 2-year contract.



Recommendation

In summary, Marites is mature and ready to take on new challenge. Being a first timer in Singapore, it may not be easy for her to understand employer’s needs, however, we believe with enough time, proper guidance and training, she will be a good help in your family.
