Experiences

7 years (2006 – 2013) as helper cum working student in Antique, Philippines

Melliza worked in a flat with 3-bedrooms, 2-toilets, a living room, garden and kitchen for a family of 3 with an infant. After years of working, another two newborn was added to the family, and she looked after their welfare. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, marketing, prepare and cook for the family, laundry, ironing and folding, tend to garden and plant watering.

(2013 – 2014)

Stayed home and seek new work opportunities.

1 year (2014 – 2015) as helper in Cavite, Philippines

Melliza worked in a 3-storey house with 2-bedrooms, a toilet, living room and kitchen for family of 5 with a 5-year-old with special needs, and she looked after his welfare. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, marketing, assist to prepare and cook for the family, laundry, ironing and folding.

3 years (2015 – 2018) as helper cum working student in Antique, Philippines

Melliza returned to her previous employment with same routine. In all these, she managed the work well. For her future employment, she hopes to widen her experience to be a better helper.  

(2019 – present)

Stays home, worked as a Cashier at Tambunting Pawnshop for a year, and seek new job opportunities.



Cooking                   

She cooks Filipino dishes, such as adodo, sinigang, menudo, spaghetti, pansit, etc., keen to learn to cook Chinese and various other dishes.



Childcare

She is keen to look after children / infants and looks after her own since birth. In her previous experience, she prepared their milk and meals, washed and sterilized feeding bottles, bathed and changed them with a fresh clothing and diapers, administered their vitamins and medications, kept company and played with them, dressed and sent them to-and-fro from school, assisted and supervised their schoolwork, attended to and assisted in their needs.



Elderly Care

She is keen to look after the elderly.      



Pet Care

She is keen to look after pets and back home, she grooms and feed an Aspin, keep clean the pet areas.



Hand phone

She will follow the employer’s instruction regarding hand phone usage. However, she will contact her family using her own hand phone after work hour. Any other usage arrangement is between employer and helper; this will be stated in the Job Offer.



Off-day

The helper is entitled to 1 compulsory off-day per month and the other working off-days shall be compensated accordingly.



2 years contract

She is aware of the 2-year contract.



Recommendation

In summary, Melliza is mature and ready to take on new challenge. Being a first timer in Singapore, it may not be easy for her to understand employer’s needs, however, we believe with enough time, proper guidance and training, she will be a good help in your family.
