Experiences

4 years (2020 – 2024) as a nanny in Saudi Arabia

Laila worked in a 3-storey house with 3-bedrooms, 7-toilets, 3-living room, 2-kitchen and a playroom for an Arabian family of 5 with a 3-year-old, and she looked after his welfare, together with an Indonesian and Filipina co-helpers. Daily, she cleans and tidy the child’s bedroom, does his laundry, ironing and folding. In all these, she managed the work well. For her future employment, she hopes to learn and adapt to new culture and experiences.

(2024 – present)

Returns home, spend time with her family and seek new job opportunities.



Cooking                   

She cooks Filipino dishes, such as adobo and sinigang, keen to learn to cook Chinese and various other dishes.



Childcare

She is keen to look after children / infants. In Saudi, she prepared his milk and meals, washed and sterilized feeding bottles, bathed and changed him with fresh clothing and diapers, dressed and sent him to-and-fro from school, kept company and played with him, soothed him to sleep or nap, attended to and assisted in his needs.

Hand phone

She will follow the employer’s instruction regarding hand phone usage. However, she will contact her family using her own hand phone after work hour. Any other usage arrangement is between employer and helper; this will be stated in the Job Offer.



Off-day

The helper is entitled to 1 compulsory off-day per month and the other working off-days shall be compensated accordingly.



2 years contract

She is aware of the 2-year contract.



Recommendation

In summary, Laila is mature and ready to take on new challenge. Being a first timer in Singapore, it may not be easy for her to understand employer’s needs, however, we believe with enough time, proper guidance and training, she will be a good help in your family.
