Experiences

2 years 6 months (Apr 2012 – Oct 2014) as a helper in the Philippines

Marissa worked in a bungalow with 2-bedrooms, a toilet, living room and kitchen for family of 3 with an infant, and she looked after his welfare. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, marketing, prepare and cook for the family, laundry, ironing and folding, wash and clean the family car.

1 year 7 months (Feb 2015 – Sep 2016) as a helper in the Philippines

Marissa worked in a bungalow with 2-bedrooms, a toilet, living room and kitchen for family of 3 with a 7-year-old, and she looked after his welfare. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, marketing, prepare and cook for the family, laundry, ironing and folding, wash and clean the family car. In all these, she managed the work well. For her future employment, she hopes to widen her experience to be a better helper.

Worked as a Cashier/ Store Crew at Goldilocks Bakeshop in the Philippines.

(Oct 2020 – present)

Stays home, manages the family’s piggery business, and seek new job opportunities.



Cooking                   

She cooks Filipino dishes, such as adobo, steamed fish, chicken curry, sinigang etc., keen to learn to cook Chinese and various other dishes.



Childcare

She is keen to look after children / infants and she looks after her own since birth. In her previous experience, she prepared infant’s milk, meals for the older one and fed the infant, bathed and changed them with fresh clothing and diapers, administered their medications, accompanied them for outdoor sunshine and relaxation, dressed and sent the child to-and-fro from school, attended to and assisted in their needs.  



Elderly Care

She is keen to look after the elderly and she looked after her 87-year-old grandmother with cancer before she passed on. She prepared her meals, bathed and dressed her with fresh clothing and diapers, maintained cleanliness and hygiene, attended to and assisted in her needs.



Pet Care

She is keen to look after pets and back home, she grooms and feed an Aspin, keep clean the pet areas.



Hand phone

She will follow the employer’s instruction regarding hand phone usage. However, she will contact her family using her own hand phone after work hour. Any other usage arrangement is between employer and helper; this will be stated in the Job Offer.



Off-day

The helper is entitled to 1 compulsory off-day per month and the other working off-days shall be compensated accordingly.



2 years contract

She is aware of the 2-year contract.



Recommendation

In summary, Marissa is mature and ready to take on new challenge. Being a first timer in Singapore, it may not be easy for her to understand employer’s needs, however, we believe with enough time, proper guidance and training, she will be a good help in your family.
