Experiences

11 months (Nov 2019 – Oct 2020) as a helper in Jordan

Lyrafe worked in a bungalow with 5-bedrooms, 7-toilets, 3-living rooms, a garden, garage and kitchen for a British family of 6, together with a Filipina and Egyptian co-helpers. Daily she does general house cleaning chores, ironing and folding.

(Nov 2020 – Nov 2021)

Returned home, looked after her son’s welfare and applied to work in Saudi Arabia.

2 years 2 months (Dec 2021 – Feb 2024) as a helper in Saudi Arabia

Lyrafe worked in a bungalow with 5-bedrooms, 3-toilets, 4-living rooms and 2-kitchens for an Arabian family of 8 with a newborn, 8-, 9-, 16-, 17- and 18-year-old, and she looked after their welfare. Daily she does general house cleaning chores, laundry, ironing and folding, wash and clean the two cars. In all these, she managed the work well. For her future employment, she hopes to learn and adapt to new culture and experiences.

Returns home, looks after her son’s welfare and seek new job opportunities.



Cooking                   

She cooks Filipino dishes, such as adobo and fried dishes, keen to learn to cook Chinese and various other dishes.  



Childcare

She is keen to look after children / infants, and she looks after her own since birth. In Saudi, she prepared infant’s milk and meals for the older children, washed and sterilized feeding bottles, bathed and changed them with fresh clothing and diapers, administered their vitamins and medications, dressed and get them ready for school, kept company and played with them, soothed them to sleep, attended to and assisted in their needs.



Elderly Care

She is keen to look after the elderly.



Pet Care

She is keen to look after pets.



Hand phone

She will follow the employer’s instruction regarding hand phone usage. However, she will contact her family using her own hand phone after work hour. Any other usage arrangement is between employer and helper; this will be stated in the Job Offer.



Off-day

The helper is entitled to 1 compulsory off-day per month and the other working off-days shall be compensated accordingly.



2 years contract

She is aware of the 2-year contract.



Recommendation

In summary, Lyrafe is mature and ready to take on new challenge. Being a first timer in Singapore, it may not be easy for her to understand employer’s needs, however, we believe with enough time, proper guidance and training, she will be a good help in your family.
