Experiences

2 years 7 months (Jul 2021 – Feb 2024) as a Nurse Auxiliary (Healthcare Assistant) at Antique Medical Center, Philippines

Elsa looked after bedridden patients with bedsores, 3rd degree burned, cancer, stroke, elderly, and newborn. She checked and monitored their vital signs, changed their soiled clothes and diapers, cleaned and dressed wounds, changed IV fluids, assisted with patients' movement, transfer them from bed to wheelchair and vice versa, attended to all their needs.

(2023 – present) on-call Caregiver in the Philippines

She looks after the welfare of an 84-year-old bedridden female, a stroke patient fed via NGT. In all these, she managed the work well. For her future employment, she hopes to learn and adapt to new culture and experiences.



Cooking                   

She cooks Filipino dishes, such as nilaga, adobo, menudo etc., keen to learn to cook Chinese and various other dishes.



Childcare

She is keen to look after children/ infants. In her previous experience, she changed the infants with fresh clothing and diapers, checked and monitored baby’s temperature and heart rate.    



Elderly Care

She is keen to look after the elderly. In her previous experience, she prepares her meals and feed her, bed bathe and change her with fresh clothing and diapers, administer her medications, changes bed positions every 2 hours, attend to and assist in her daily needs.



Pet Care

She is keen to look after pets and back home, she grooms and feed a Shih Tzu, keep clean the pet areas.



Hand phone

She will follow the employer’s instruction regarding hand phone usage. However, she will contact her family using her own hand phone after work hour. Any other usage arrangement is between employer and helper; this will be stated in the Job Offer.



Off-day

The helper is entitled to 1 compulsory off-day per month and the other working off-days shall be compensated accordingly.



2 years contract

She is aware of the 2-year contract.



Recommendation

In summary, Elsa is mature and ready to take on new challenge. Being a first timer in Singapore, it may not be easy for her to understand employer’s needs, however, we believe with enough time, proper guidance and training, she will be a good help in your family.
