Experiences

3 years 1 month (Dec 2011 – Jan 2015) as a helper in Qatar

Maria Fe worked in a flat with 2-bedrooms, 2-toilets, a living room and kitchen for an Egyptian family of 3 with a 6-month-old, and she looked after her welfare. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, prepare and cook for the family, laundry, ironing and folding.

(Feb 2015 – May 2015)

Returned home, looked after her family welfare and applied to work in Hong Kong.

4 months (Jun 2015 – Oct 2015) as a helper in Hong Kong

Maria Fe worked in a flat with 2-bedrooms, 2-toilets, a living room and kitchen for a Chinese family of 3 with an 8-year-old, and she looked after his welfare. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, prepare and cook for the family, laundry, ironing and folding.

(Nov 2015 – Oct 2020)

Returned home, looked after her family welfare and applied to work in Saudi Arabia.

2 years 2 months (Nov 2020 – Jan 2023) as a helper in Saudi Arabia

Maria Fe worked in a 2-storey house with 5-bedrooms, 5-toilets, 2-living room, 2-kitchen, a garden and garage for a family of 10, together with 2 co-helpers. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, laundry, ironing and folding

(Jan 2023 – Mar 2023)

Returned home for vacation.  

1 year 3 months (Mar 2023 – Jun 2024) as a helper in Saudi Arabia

Maria Fe returned to her previous employment with same routine. In all these, she managed the work well. For her future employment, she hopes to learn and adapt to new culture and experiences.

(Jul 2024 – present)

Returns home, looks after her family welfare and seek new job opportunities.



Cooking                   

She cooks Filipino dishes, keen to learn to cook Chinese and various other dishes. In her previous experience, she prepared and cooked basic Arabic and Chinese dishes, such as kabsa, maqlooba, rice hummus, chicken padas, steam fish and Chinese soup.
    

Childcare

She is keen to look after children/ infants, and she looks after her own since birth. In her previous experience, she prepared their milk and meals, washed and sterilized feeding bottles, bathed and changed the infant with fresh clothing and diapers, dressed and sent the older child to-and-fro from school, sang lullabies and soothed the infant to sleep, attended to and assisted in their needs.

Hand phone

She will follow the employer’s instruction regarding hand phone usage. However, she will contact her family using her own hand phone after work hour. Any other usage arrangement is between employer and helper; this will be stated in the Job Offer.



Off-day

The helper is entitled to 1 compulsory off-day per month and the other working off-days shall be compensated accordingly.



2 years contract

She is aware of the 2-year contract.



Recommendation

In summary, Maria Fe is mature and ready to take on new challenge. Being a first timer in Singapore, it may not be easy for her to understand employer’s needs, however, we believe with enough time, proper guidance and training, she will be a good help in your family.
