5 months (Jan 2018 – Jun 2018) as a helper in Manila, Philippines

Gerlie worked in a condo with 2-bedrooms, 2-toilets, a living room and kitchen for a family of 4 with a 1- and 3-year-old, and she looked after their welfare. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, prepare and cook for the family, laundry, ironing and folding.

(Jul 2018 – Jul 2022)

Stayed home, looked after her family welfare and applied to work in Saudi Arabia.

2 years 1 month (Aug 2022 – Sep 2024) as a helper in Saudi Arabia

Gerlie worked in a 3-storey house with 4-bedrooms, 5-toilets, 2-living room and 2-kitchen for a 70-year-old diabetic female. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, prepare and cook for the family, laundry, ironing and folding. In all these, she managed the work well. For her future employment, she hopes to learn and adapt to new culture and experiences.

(Sep 2024 – present)

Returns home, looks after her family welfare and seek new job opportunities.



Cooking                   

She cooks Filipino dishes, keen to learn to cook Chinese and various other dishes.



Childcare

She is keen to look after children/ infants, and she looks after her own since birth. In her local experience, she prepared their milk and meals, washed and sterilized feeding bottles, bathed and changed them with fresh clothing and diapers, watched over their playing and safety, sang lullabies and soothed them to sleep, dressed and sent them to-and-fro from school, tutored and supervised their schoolwork, attended to and assisted in their needs.  



Elderly Care

She is keen to look after the elderly. In Saudi, she prepared her meals, administered her medications and insulin, accompanied her for outdoor activities, attended to and assisted in her needs.



Pet Care

She is keen to look after pets.  



Hand phone

She will follow the employer’s instruction regarding hand phone usage. However, she will contact her family using her own hand phone after work hour. Any other usage arrangement is between employer and helper; this will be stated in the Job Offer.



Off-day

The helper is entitled to 1 compulsory off-day per month and the other working off-days shall be compensated accordingly.



2 years contract

She is aware of the 2-year contract.



Recommendation

In summary, Gerlie is mature and ready to take on new challenge. Being a first timer in Singapore, it may not be easy for her to understand employer’s needs, however, we believe with enough time, proper guidance and training, she will be a good help in your family.
