Melisa 33 married with an 11-year-old, and the 6th child in the family of 13 siblings. She wants to work in Singapore to support and save up for her family and daughter’s future, and she is from Rizal, Philippines.

Experiences

7 months (Jul 2022 – Feb 2023) as a helper in Bahrain

Melisa worked in a bungalow with 5-bedrooms, 4-toilets, a living room and kitchen for a Royal family of 7 with a 19- and 20-year-old, and she looked after their welfare, together with 3 Filipina and 2 Pakistani co-helpers. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, marketing, wash and clean up kitchen and utensils after use, laundry, ironing and folding. In all these, she managed the work well. For her future employment, she hopes to learn and adapt to new culture and experiences.

Returns home, looks after her family welfare and seek new job opportunities.



Cooking                   

She cooks Filipino dishes, such as sinigang, tinola, nilaga etc., keen to learn to cook Chinese and various other dishes.



Childcare

She is keen to look after children / infants, and she looks after her own since birth. In Bahrain, she prepared their meals, accompanied them for outdoor activities, attended to and assisted in their needs.



Elderly Care

She is keen to look after the elderly, and she looked after her grandparents. She prepared their meals, watched over their safety, attended to and assisted in their needs.



Pet Care

She is keen to look after pets and back home, she grooms and feed a Poodle and two cats, keep clean the pet areas.



Hand phone

She will follow the employer’s instruction regarding hand phone usage. However, she will contact her family using her own hand phone after work hour. Any other usage arrangement is between employer and helper; this will be stated in the Job Offer.



Off-day

The helper is entitled to 1 compulsory off-day per month and the other working off-days shall be compensated accordingly.



2 years contract

She is aware of the 2-year contract.



Recommendation

In summary, Melisa is mature and ready to take on new challenge. Being a first timer in Singapore, it may not be easy for her to understand employer’s needs, however, we believe with enough time, proper guidance and training, she will be a good help in your family.
