Experiences

2 years 5 months (Jul 2005 – Dec 2007) as a nanny in the Philippines

Verbo worked in an apartment with a single bedroom, toilet, living room and kitchen for a family of 3 with an infant, and she looked after his welfare, together with on-call helper. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, prepare and cook for the child, does his laundry, ironing and folding. In all these, she managed the work well. For her future employment, she hopes to learn and adapt to new culture and experiences.

Works as sales admin/ data encoder at Monheim Distributors Inc., and part-time pharmacy assistant/ cashier at YCP pharmacy in the Philippines.



Cooking                   

She cooks Filipino dishes, such as adobo etc., keen to learn to cook Chinese and various other dishes.



Childcare

She is keen to look after children / infants, and she looks after her own since birth. In her local experience, she prepared his milk and meals, bathed and changed him with fresh clothing and diapers, administered his vitamins, watched over his playing and safety, attended to and assisted in his needs.



Elderly Care

She is keen to look after the elderly, and she looked after parents’ welfare before they passed on. She prepared their meals, bathed them, administered their medications, attended to and assisted in their needs.  



Pet Care

She is keen to look after pets and back home, she grooms and feed a Golden Retriever, and a cat, keep clean the pet areas.



Hand phone

She will follow the employer’s instruction regarding hand phone usage. However, she will contact her family using her own hand phone after work hour. Any other usage arrangement is between employer and helper; this will be stated in the Job Offer.



Off-day

The helper is entitled to 1 compulsory off-day per month and the other working off-days shall be compensated accordingly.



2 years contract

She is aware of the 2-year contract.



Recommendation

In summary, Verbo is mature and ready to take on new challenge. Being a first timer in Singapore, it may not be easy for her to understand employer’s needs, however, we believe with enough time, proper guidance and training, she will be a good help in your family.
