Experiences

4 years 6 months (Mar 2011 – Sep 2015) as a helper in Kuwait

Magie worked in an apartment with 3-bedrooms, 2-toilets, a living room and kitchen for a Lebanese family of 8 with a newborn and 3-year-old, and she looked after their welfare, together with 3 co-helpers. Daily, she assisted in household chores.

(Oct 2015 – Apr 2016)

Returned home, spent time with her family and applied to work in Saudi Arabia.  

3 months (May 2016 – Aug 2016) as a cook in Saudi Arabia

Magie worked in a 3-storey house with a basement and 3-kitchen for an Arabian family of 17, together with 2 co-helpers. Daily, she cleans and tidy the kitchens, prepare and cook for the family.

(Sep 2016 – Nov 2018)

Returned home, spent time with her family and applied to work in Qatar.  

5 years 4 months (Dec 2018 – Apr 2024) as a helper in Qatar

Magie worked in a 2-storey house with a garage, garden, 5-bedrooms, 5-toilets, 2-living room and 2-kitchen for a Qatari family of 7 with a newborn, 2-, 7-, 9- and 13-year-old, and she looked after their welfare, together with 4 co-helpers. Daily, she assisted in household chores, prepare and cook for the family. In all these, she managed the work well. For her future employment, she hopes to learn and adapt to new culture and experiences.  

(May 2024 – present)

Returns home, spend time with her family and seek new job opportunities.



Cooking                   

She cooks Filipino dishes, keen to learn to cook Chinese and various other dishes. In her previous experience, she prepared and cooked basic Arabic dishes, such as machboos, biryani, saloona, es abyat, patayer etc.



Childcare

She is keen to look after children / infants. In her previous experience, she prepared their milk and meals, washed and sterilized feeding bottles, bathed and changed them with fresh clothing and diapers, dressed and get them ready for school, kept company and soothed them to sleep or nap, accompanied them for outdoor activities, attended to and assisted in their needs.



Elderly Care

She is keen to look after the elderly.



Pet Care

She is keen to look after pets and back home, she grooms and feed two Shih Tzu, keep clean the pet areas.



Hand phone

She will follow the employer’s instruction regarding hand phone usage. However, she will contact her family using her own hand phone after work hour. Any other usage arrangement is between employer and helper; this will be stated in the Job Offer.



Off-day

The helper is entitled to 1 compulsory off-day per month and the other working off-days shall be compensated accordingly.



2 years contract

She is aware of the 2-year contract.



Recommendation

In summary, Magie is mature and ready to take on new challenge. Being a first timer in Singapore, it may not be easy for her to understand employer’s needs, however, we believe with enough time, proper guidance and training, she will be a good help in your family.
