Experiences

3 years 10 months (Jan 2012 – Nov 2015) as a helper in Iraq

Regine worked in a flat with 5-bedrooms, 4-toilets, a living room and kitchen for a Turkish family of 3 with a 5- and 6-year-old, and she looked after their welfare, together with a co-helper. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, laundry, ironing and folding.

(Dec 2015 – Nov 2021)

Returned home, spent time with her family and applied to work in Qatar.  

2 years 10 months (Dec 2021 – Oct 2024) as a helper in Qatar

Regine worked in a 3-storey house with 4-bedrooms, 3-toilets, a living room, kid’s office, laundry area, helper’s room, visiting area, garden, garage and kitchen for a Qatari family of 6 with a 12- and 16-year-old, and she looked after their welfare, together with a driver and 4 co-helpers. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, laundry, ironing and folding. She was also asked to assist at the employer’s catering services business. In all these, she managed the work well. For her future employment, she hopes to learn and adapt to new culture and experiences.

(Nov 2024 – present)

Returns home, spend time with her family and seek new job opportunities.


Cooking                   

She cooks Filipino dishes, keen to learn to cook Chinese and various other dishes. In her previous experience, she prepared and cooked basic Arabic dishes, such as chicken biryani.



Childcare

She is keen to look after children / infants. In her previous experience, she prepared their meals, watched over their playing and safety, accompanied them for outdoor activities, dressed and sent them to-and-fro from school, attended to and assisted in their needs.



Pet Care

She is keen to look after pets.



Hand phone

She will follow the employer’s instruction regarding hand phone usage. However, she will contact her family using her own hand phone after work hour. Any other usage arrangement is between employer and helper; this will be stated in the Job Offer.



Off-day

The helper is entitled to 1 compulsory off-day per month and the other working off-days shall be compensated accordingly.



2 years contract

She is aware of the 2-year contract.



Recommendation

In summary, Regine is mature and ready to take on new challenge. Being a first timer in Singapore, it may not be easy for her to understand employer’s needs, however, we believe with enough time, proper guidance and training, she will be a good help in your family.
